Show BM.A. FLASHES by Jim Abplanalp PROVO HERE WEDNESDAY - The local BDAA baseball nine will play host to the Provo Timps Wednesday, in a night game starting at 8:00 p.m. Last Sunday, Bingham lost a 5 to 1 verdict to league leading Spanish Fork club. The locals couldn't solve the offerings of ex-ibig leaguer, Kent Peterson, Spanish Fork pitcher. Kenny Austin went the route for the BDAA club and did a good job despite the loss. IN SEMI-PRO TOURNEY A combined team from Bingham Bing-ham and Magna is playing in the State Semi-pro Tournament at Richfield this week. The three-day three-day tourney began today, July 26, and will run through Sunday, July 28. Don Gust and Ray Kho-ury, Kho-ury, managers of Bingham and Magna in the State League, will choose their squad from both teams and co-manage the entry in the semi-pro tourney. The winner of this tournament will have a chance to participate in the national championship playoff play-off in Wichita, Kansas. Balance of Schedule Bingham plays at Magna on Sunday, August 4, in an afternoon after-noon game at 2:30 p.m. For the rest of the State League Lea-gue schedule, Bingham plays at Spanish Fork August 14, against Midvale at Bingham Sunday, August 18, against American Fork at Bingham August 21, and will wind up regular league play at Provo August 25. |
