Donny Osmond Weds Provoan Debra Glenn In Temple Ceremonies By PATRICK CHRISTIAN Donny Osmond married Debra Glenn this morning in the Salt Lake LDS Temple despite an earlier public announcement that indicated the couple had set a wedding date for early June. In the early morning darkness a convoy of Osmond vehicles slipped out of Provo and headed for Salt Lake City for the private wedding ceremony attended by about 59 family members and close friends. LDS Church officials said the Osmonds contacted them over the weekend and asked for help in arranging temple ceremonies. The ceremony itself was performed by Paul H. Dunn, a member of the LDS Church's First Quorum of the Seventy, a close friend and the author of the official Osmond family biography. Donny, who announced his engagement April 23, spoke marriage vows with Debra Glenn in the LDS temple about 7:30 a.m. Around 9 a m the couple posed for photographs outside the temple. The Osmond family, including Donny, is due to begin rehearsals in Las Vegas this afternoon and were expected to be flying to that Nevada City following the wedding for a private wedding reception and later rehearsals. The Osmund fair.i'y is due to open their Las Vegas tour on the 9th and are expected to play the Hilton Hotel for three weeks. The new bride and groom met each other in 1975 when she was dating his brother Jay, who is now 22 and still unmarried. Donny is 20. Donny reportedly asked Jay if he could date Debra and Jav agreed. As a surprise for Debra, Donny had her written into the movie script. The movie is due to be released in August. The delegation was to have opened new talks with the Western five today. There was no indication when, or if, the talks would be rescheduled. South Africa said it launched its invasion Thursday to wipe out SWAPO bases along the South West Africa frontier inside Angola. Its troops pushed 160 miles inside Angolan territory. The guerrillas said the supposed key base, at Kassinga, actually was a refugee camp. SWAPO said that "as a result of this invasion by several South African battalions, hundreds of Namibian men, women and children were killed and wounded and valuable property destroyed at our refugee camp at Kassinga in southern Angola." At Angola's insistence, the Security Council called an urgent meeting Friday night and condemned, by a 15-- 0 vote, the South African invasion. It also demanded Pretoria's "immediate and unconditional withdrawal" of its troops from Angola. The Security Council said it would consider "more effective measures" against South Africa if that nation failed to obey. But it did not say what those measures might be. The Western five have been negotiating with SWAPO and South Africa separately for the past year trying to reach a plan, acceptable to both vote and insides, for a dependence for South West Africa. Until the Angolan invasion, it had appeared the Western plan was gaining support from both sides. South Africa's mandate over South West Africa was withdrawn by the United Nations in 1966, but Pretoria has maintained its control over the region in the 12 years since. McCullough in State Representative Race Attorney W. Andrew McCullough, 29, has announced plans to seek the Republican nomination for Utah State Representative from District 39. A resident of 375 E. 100 S., Provo. Mr. McCullough is a practicing attorney in the law firm of Mulliner and McCullough. and is currently chairman of the Utah County Young Republican's Club and a member of the Utah County Republican Party. He also serves on the Republican Party's central and executive committees. He said he has been motivated to make the race because of his concern over the federal government's taking over the decision making process on the state level "The federal government is using state inaction as an excuse to make our decisions for us," he explained. "To Donny is the son of George and Olive and it was these Osmond of Provo and who encouraged two parents of the promoted the singing careers famous entertaining Osmonds. - that end I am especially interested in certain constitutional changes being considered to lengthen the legislative session and to constitution revision that would allow state legislators to call themselves back into session to override vetoes and pass important legislation which might require immediate attention." He said he was concerned also about government spending and would try and walk a thin line between holding taxes to the lowest possible amount and the spending of those taxes. "I am specifically concerned about real property taxes which have made it all but impossible to buy and maintain a home. I would also like to see the sales tax taken of off food ; something as necessary as that should not be taxed, it makes no sense to me," he stated. Mr. McCullough also called for a survey of what the state is doing that could be done by private enterprise. He said he felt that private enterprise should not have to compete with the state. Kissinger told the Senate committee "I rather regret the request came up in package form ... I feel the best solution is to increase the number of planes for Israel."
