Commission Graduate Marks 20 Years Of Working for U.S. Presidents BYU By LEE RODERICK Herald Washington Bureau - WASHINGTON Connie Gerard Romero, a 1963 graduate of Brigham Young University, Thursday marked 20 years at the White House, where she has worked in the press office since the beginning of Lyndon Johnson's presidency. Romero, a native of Evans-toWyo., studied business education and office management at BYU, where she was a student officer. The county-owne- d office building formerly occupied by the Juvenile Court will soon house part of the Assessor's Office staff, thus relieving the crowding in that office. The motor vehicle taxation section of the Assessor's Office will soon move to the old Juvenile Court building, which will henceforth be known as the Motor Vehicle Building. Also to be housed there will be the State Tax Commission's vehicle licensing office, making the task of motor vehicles easier for . 1 v vehicle owners. With part of the Assessor's Office staff relocated, the county's Physical Facilities Committee has recommended a number of changes to restore the main floor of the County Building to its former conditioa These changes have been approved by the County Commission unanimously. The Assessor's Office cage, which now extends into the central hall, will be removed from the building, as will two glass enclosures in the entrance area. The "Motherhood" statue will be moved from the center of the hall to one side of the main entrance. Committee members recommended that the Treasurer should move out of the room on the east side of the central hail, south of the stairway, and should be assigned to - because of 1983 spring flood damage.
