Olsen to house at an him open honor celebrate his 95th birthday Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Wendell Kirkpatrick home, 277 N.300W., American Fork. Mr. Olsen was born in Park is City, April 2, 1881, and believed to be the oldest man in American Fork. He was the third son of Louis and Maria Peterson Olsen and had six brothers and one sister. The 1387. family moved to Lindon in in the farm They had a large area of Geneva. When he was 16 Mr. Olsen worked on the railroad. He worked as a cook in a boarding house for a time, then went to Denver to work. On the way home he was thrown from the train, which then passed over his foot cutting a portion off. He married Blanche May Cousins on June 17, They had three children. William, Velma and Ardean. When Mrs. Olsen died in 1914. Alma returned to American Fork so his three children could be 190-1- . for cared by their grandmother. He married Harriet Luella Storrs in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 26, 1915. Two daughters, Lydia and Luella, were born to them. His only son William died in 1916. In 1928, while family members were mother's celebrating birthday, Luella drowned at his Saratoga. He lost his wife in 1939. Mr. Olsen is a member of the LDS Church and is an active member of the 16th Ward. He has been a high priest since 1934. He was employed at the Utah life-lon- g G3 IT v ens. But he was determined to remain independent. Through hard work he recovered the use of his legs, learned to walk again and was able to leave the rest home where he had to live for a while. He now lives in his own home and takes care of himself and his little white dog "Pal." Called "Grandpa Olsen" by his neighbors. Mr. Olsen has five grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren.
