The officer had to ride in the ambulance with the man to the hospital, since the patient was not cooperating with medical personnel. Police received a theft report on August 17. Officers received a written statement along with a description of the stolen items and referred the case to investigations. On August 18, police arrested a man who obtained a prescription illegally at the Payson Rite Aid. Police were called to a vehicle theft that had just occurred on August 18. Apparently, a man parked his vehicle and left it running while he spoke with a friend across the street. While his back was turned, two white males in their early to jumped into the mid-twenti- es car and drove away. They were last seen turning onto southbound. The car had 14 tank of gas and city and county officers south of Payson were told to be on the lookout for the vehicle. At the time of this report the car had not been located and no further information was available. Officers verified that the woman was intoxicated and booked her into jail for child abuse, intoxication and criminal mischief. On the 18th, a man reported that 5 hay bales had been stolen from him. The bales were worth $150. The man gave police a written statement, but there was no suspect information. On August 18, police went out an agency assist to 17-2-2 it back to me and closes the door. Two minutes later he opens the door again and grabs the button from me and taps it on the wall a couple of times and tries it again.. .it works. He looks at me sitting there with red on the right and blue on the left, and I just smile and shrug my shoulders so he hands me back the button. This happens a couple more times until he finally figures out that the button is can happen apparent reason but luckily it usually doesn't last too long. But since he starts the hearing test on the left side and has to turn the machine up to just slightly louder than a police siren to get any kind of results, my left ear starts the loud ringing. By the time he gets to the right side all I can hear is my left ear screaming in my head and that makes it really difficult to hear the beeping in my right ear. Finally he opens the door and tells me in sign language that the test is over and I can go. 1 yell, "Thank you" and leave, my hearing test over for another year. And maybe when the results come back it will show that my hearing isn't any worse than it was the year before. Well, one can only hope. I SAID, ONE CAN ONLY okay... I just haven't heard any beeping yet so I'm not pushing it. He goes back and turns his test equipment up to the "DEAF" setting and after that I start hear- ing some beeping in my left ear. Of course they always start with my left ear, which is the one that rings all the If time, day and night, 24-he had started with the right ear I may have been able to hear something on the "NEARLY DEAF" setting. My left ear also has two ringing levels. Normally it rings just loud enough for me to hear the ringing if I think about it. Then there is the "someone blowing a whistle in my ear" level that is impossible to ignore. That 7. HOPE!
