J:jv" The Lord is ' with me in my labors. I have taken my old plan in preaching to the people. I take my Bible and visit their houses, then invite them to our meetings. I find in taking this course we get our meeting-rooms- , as a general thing, well attended, and I must Bay that they listen with great attention, and some of them obey the Gospel aud re joice in the Lord our God. being Sunday, some twelve persons were baptized this morning, and confirmed this afternoon. We hud an excellent meeting ; the saints felt full of the good spiritand tliin that the work is only commenced. I preached this afternoon and evening to crowded houses in Nottingham. Some of those that had been baptized walked eight miles. After the evening meeting three persons gave in their name for baptism. This win make forty-fiv- e individuals that have been added to our numbers in this Conference by baptism since my arrival in this country, so you see, dear brother, the work of our Father's kingdom is on the increase in this part of the earth. Truly my heart is made to rejoice to know that God is with me by the power of his spirit, to the convincing of the honest in heart that my testimony is .true. 1 often remember and think of your words that you spoke to nre when you blessed me, that many people should obey niy testimony, and the hearts of the saints should rejoice under the sound of my voice. Truly I see this being fulfilled every day, as I travel through this Conference,. for when 1 enter the of the habitations and meeting-room- s saints I see their countenances shine and their eyes sparkle with joy. Truly the Lord is with me all the day long, and I feel the power of his spirit enabling me to discharge my duties as a servant of the living God. I try so to live before the Lord that I can get his smiles and approbations day by day, and to do this I see that it stands me in hand to fast and pray from time to time, so that I may have the bread of life to feed to the people. The saints feel well here in this Conference, and they are a good people. I teach them to pay their tithing, and do it. I see by our monthly report thy that the saints have paid double the amount of tithing since my arrival to what they paid for months past. So the Lord is with his people all the day long, when they obey the counsels of his servants. I feel thankful that my family is blessed in my absence with health and strength and peace and joy. I hope this will find you and all your beloved family well. PleaBe remember me to sister Richards, also to F.
