Between the hours of noon Dec. 31 and 7 a.m. Jan. 1, the police department responded to 109 incidents; 73 calls from citizens and 36 officer observations. Nineteen calls were citizen assists, such as lost or disabled motorists. Three people wanted legal advice; nine calls were burglar alarms. Officers responded to five family fights, one runaway and three assaults. There were five thefts, two three vandalisms, 18 frauds, reports of suspicious circumstances and four to keep the peace. Problems with animals accounted for 10 calls and one person reported harrasing phone calls. There were nine calls on traffic problems and four accidents, one of which resulted in injuries.
