The long range proposal includes plans for a golf course and oth recreation facilier ties. Conrad Konlng, Las Vegas, representing Leisure Sports, Inc., made formal application to the State Land Board durinp meetings Wednesday. Leisure Sports is asking for a special use base, of 4S years on 1,900 acres in a mountainous area of d land between Bea ver and Sdpio. The board deferred action on the lease pending further exam ination of terms and costs. Harvest tourna ment is coming along pretty well, the leaders are the same as last week except for Lynn Op3nshaw, who jumped up to 2nd place. The standings as of last week are: in first place is Rod Brough with a 1339, 2nd is Lynn Openshaw with 1530, 3rd is Cliff Savage with 1518, 4th is Jerry Zabriskie with 1508, 5th is Burnell Perry with 1492, 6 th is Jerry Thornock with 1490 and 7th is Melvin Jenkins with 1489. The leader in the scratch division is still Jerry Zabriskie with 1508, 2nd is Rod Brough with 1458 and 3rd is Dale Hepworth with 1128. In reviewing our past history of these tournaments the scores are still low, and this is the final weekend of the tournament, and the whole line up above can be changed quite easily. Come on in and watch the fun, there are a lot of fine shooters coming in, and one interesting bowler and fine gentleman coming in from Rock Springs is Nestor Trujillo, always a colorful shooter and outstanding competitor. He is the fella that hit a 299 in our last King Winter tournament, has hit 300 several times in leagues and tournaments. Hell be here shooting all cay. I The Golden We are certainly proud of our Junior travel team. The boys took all 4 of their games, and .the girls took three, when you figure the girls bowled the team leaders, all boys who had won 21 and only lost 3 so far in the league, and they were on their home lanes, our girls did an outstanding job. They were lead by their team captain Larene Ostlund who racked up a resounding 179 average. By the time the last game was over those boys were reallv talking to themselves and shaking their heads in wonder. Russ Schneider on the boy's team put a chill thru the league when he tied the league high game his first day with a beautiful 235, and could have gone ahead if it hadn't been for a difficult washout hit in the 10th frame. Our Mens travel league team also captured 1st place in their league and were lead in a 4 game win by Karl Bowers who racked up a beautiful 878 for 4 games with a high game of 247. Our Hotshot of the week award goes to Sandy Swenson who bowled a nearly perfect game,, opened with a split, had 10 straight strikes after that and washed out in the last ball, bu hit a sweet 269 same. I more pins would have brought in like, 12,600.00 something prizes to her. Shotgun Keith Reams didn't do so badly either last night when he hit at 267, and his 4 man team had a 833 game. The turkey shoots are on and it's fun to watch the excitement of the bowlers beating their averages. Typical of some hot shooting is Donna Braimen with a 204, Eleanor Kossman with a 204, and Joan Reich with a 215, and these are 120 to 140 average bowlers. May we wish you a DountiM and happy Thanksgiving. ... .. -.- . f '.. n state-owne- Well Old Man Winter has hit us at last, it's easy to tell by the snow, black ice, some silly Cowers in my yard have started to blossom, (they were Just green plants all spring and summer) and Shiela Campbell has changed over from her ribbon and Irdian leather head dresses to a fuzzy Scarbouch Think I liked the cute Ute look better. - Coaches Club o Payson Paysoa Jerry West holds Offensive Guard Anzeles record.; which Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, iNBA game in V4 years and Johnny Egan and Keith Erkk- helped his Royals break a son an were absent, and three-gam- e losing streak with Mullaney was down to only five three points, two assists and players in the first period when two rebounds in 10 minutes. rookies Rick Robenon and Dick The Royals scored 44 points in Garrett were momentarily the first period and hit .576 from the floor as Oscar benched with minor injuries.
