Show SE5M' lta 14B SUNDAY HERALD Beaver, Mink 4 'V Trapping Seasons Near 1 opening of the mink beaver and trapping seasons rapidly approaching, the department of fish and game this week listed the following reminders to persons going afield for these furbearers. AH trappers must possess, and visibly display a valid state trapping license which may be purchased at a cost of six dol-l- a rs from many license vendors over the state. Beaver trappers are required to notify the conservation officer in the district where pelts ar taken, whereupon the officer will attach a tag to each hide allowing" the trapper to sell or use the pelts as he may choose. The tags are issued at a cost of fifty cents each and it shall be unlawful to sell, transport, possess, or buy untagged beaver furs. ( As in the past the most productive beaver trapping will be in the mountain areas, especially in the less accessible areas. Pelts are expected to be prime in most high elevation areas by the Qct ,l opening of the season. The season on these furbearers continues through May 15 throughout most of the state with an extension for the trapping of beaver in Daggett, Duchesne, Slim-miUinta and Wasatch counties until June 15, 1963. Trappers were further reminded that portions of Cache, Rich and Utah counties will be closed to trapping of furbearers this year. Under state lav no trapping is permitted on private lands without permission of the landowner or tenant thereof. It is also to disturb destrOy.ior re- move traps of another trapper or to use the flesh of game animals, game fish or protected birds as bait. With the Oct. l J'1 - ;J IX.
