October filled with family-friendly seasonal fun Submitted by Boe Marketing Celebrating 40 years of learning through play, Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum is hosting multiple Halloween events throughout the month of October with three annual signature events. From pumpkin painting to dancing potions Discovery Gateway’s October calendar is packed with daily Halloween-themed classes and workshops in early childhood, science and art. Visit DiscoveryGateway.org for more. • Families can join the Witches and Wizards’ Tea Party on Saturday, Oct.13 or Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The tea party includes magically fun activities, a caramel apple bar, face painting, balloon artist and plenty of other goodies. Preregistration is required, as space is limited. Tickets may be purchased at DiscoveryGateway.org. Cost is $30 per person or $20 per person for Discovery Gateway members. • Discovery Gateway’s Kooky Spooky Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. is included with museum admission or free for museum members. Families will enjoy a full day of scare-free activities including spooky science and art, trick-ortreating, a visit from Northern Utah Princess Parties Princesses and a magic show from the one and only Mike Hamilton. • KUED PBS Kids joins Discovery Gateway for KUED Boo Fest on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. This FREE fun-filled, Arthur-themed morning includes a showing of the “Arthur Haunted Treehouse” special, free books, Arthur swag, and plenty of trick-or-treating goodies perfect for even the biggest of sweet tooths! Boo Fest continues in the museum with more wickedly fun Halloween activities for regular admission price until 5 pm.
