Show A-15 The Park Record Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues, December 17-20, 2016 PHOTO BY FIREFLIES PHOTOGRAPHY Aaron Hoffman, right, owner of The Spur Bar and Grill, stands with general manager Fabio Ferriera and managing partner Cortney Johanson. After a lengthy renovation process, the bar recently reopened with a new Main Street storefront and a second level that includes an outdoor patio. Johanson says the project, first conceived a decade ago, was worth the wait. Continued From A-14 Spur Bar and Grill she said. “We’ve designed the menu so there are things you could eat every day if you wanted. There’s still the gluttonous bar items on there that are fun to have, but there are also salads and sandwiches. We’re hoping that people on Main Street will come for lunch here.” Though tourists are still a BUBBA BROWN/PARK RECORD week or so away from flooding the town for the holiday season, the renovated bar has already begun to attract crowds. Many people who used to work at the Spur have returned to see the new place. People who had never come before been in, too, Johanson said, and most have been impressed with what they’ve seen. “I’ve seen so many people that I hadn’t seen in forever,” she said. “Everyone is stopping by to check it out and see what it is.” For Johanson, the weeks leading up to the bar’s reopening and the days following it have been a whirlwind. It’s also been a reminder of how far the Spur has come since Hoffman opened it to accompany the neighboring 350 Main restaurant. For roughly a decade, the bar was unknown even to some locals because of its secluded entrance. It was a special treat, Johanson said, for those who knew where to find it, tucked away in a tunnel off Main Street. Now, however, the bar, complete with its two-story Main Street storefront, will be impossible to miss. “It’s so much change,” she said. “In the beginning, we served food out of 350 Main’s kitchen because we didn’t even have a kitchen here. Then, in the offseasons when 350 would shut down, there was no food. So it’s kind of evolved from being just this little sister property to 350 to this big thing. It’s almost like 350 is going to be little sister to this now.” FelicityGardner_8th_Sofa_121716.pdf 1 12/15/16 5:48 PM FELICITY GARDNER INTERIOR DESIGN 435-640-4174 · felicity@gardnergroup.co · FelicityGardnerInteriorDesign.com Z D D Featuring SMART SHADES - the only motorized window covering technology on the market that combines motorized sunshades with motorized drapery!
