When the Summit County Services Building was demolished last year, the library was relocated to the Kamas Health Center building, next door to the Food Town shopping center. Last month, Summit County hosted an open house to talk about the schedule for construction and design of the new building, which is slated to be complete in August of 2017. More than 6,000-square feet in the new facility will be dedicated to the Kamas library and will include an auditorium, computer lab and larger, more varied spaces for adults, children and teens. On Tuesday, Dec. 20, the library will host the final story-time seasonal program for toddler-aged children before the end of the year. They happen every Tuesday morning and the topics will vary by week.” On Thursday, Dec. 22, the library will host Park City author Susan Johnston as she introduces ‘Gnome in Your Home’, a book that encourages kindness in the home. The event will be followed by the after-school program, which Whiting said typically draw at least 10 teens. “Once a month we also have a teen group that has a teen advisory board that reads a book.
