Show FISH AND GAME HIGHLIGHTS Antlerless and two-deer special permits are now all sold for most hunting units where such permits were scheduled by the Utah Board of Big Game Control this year. This was the word from the department de-partment of fish and game based on latest reports from deer permit sales offices over the state. Two-deer permits are still available avail-able only on the LaSal and Avinta-quin Avinta-quin (Indian lands) hunting areas. The LaSal hunt iss a five-day notice no-tice season. The reports list antlerless permits per-mits remaining on the Currant Creek, Marysvale-Circleville, Oak Creek, Paunsaugant and Salina units. The fall upland game bird seasons sea-sons have now been set by the commission. Regulations cover the hunts for pheasants, quail, chukar and Hungarian partridge. Opening date and hour of the t L - a i n neasuns ror eacn species is o;uu a.m. November 8, with closing time the first day of 5:30 p.m. Daily shooting shoot-ing hours for all hunts after the first day will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The pheasant season will be open op-en for five days in all counties of the state through November 12th. Only cock, or male birds, will a-gain a-gain be legal game with a daily bag limit of three, possession limit of six bird after two days of hunting. Liberal seasons for the other three upland species were set for all counties with the hunts for quail, i chukars, and huns concurrent in 21 counties for a 16-day season, November 8-23, and a longer season sea-son of 23 days in eight counties, November 8-30. Fourteen guns and other fishing and hunting equipment brought $487 at the annual public auction for such equipment, according to department officials 1 he guns and other items sold had been confiscated by courts during the previous year after having hav-ing been used illegally in the taking tak-ing of game or fih. All monies derived from the sale are returned to the fish and game fund where they are used in the management of these resources. Check station reports show hunters hunt-ers taking an average of more than three grouse to the four bird permit per-mit during the recently held one week-end hunt on 12 of 14 hunting hunt-ing units.
