Show Thunderstorms drop rain, hail over county Mental competency hearing set for mother By PAT CHRISTIAN The Daily Herald PROVO A mental competency hearing has been sched- uled for an American Fork mother accused of fracturing the skull of one of her triplets, Lorille Clark, 31, was arrested March 8 by American Fork Police and booked into Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork. Now free on $25,000 bail, Clark appeared in 4th District Court Friday and public defender Carlos Garcia told Judge Donald Eyre he is seeking a mental competency evaluation for Clark. The district judge scheduled that hearing for 8 a.m., June 9. Clark didn't speak in court Friday. She was accompanied by several family members and friends. Outside the court building they spoke privately among themselves of possible custody options for the Clark children, who were removed from the home after their mother's arrest. Clark has said the children are being cared for by family members. , , The darks' boy and the triplets were removed by Division of Child and Family Service workers. Police arrested Clark after being alerted to a possible crime by representatives at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City who told them about treating a boy with a fractured skull and a detached retina. Police then questioned Clark, her husband, James, and other family members about the injuries. , Utah County prosecutors Pat Christian pchristiheraldextra.com call the beauty of nature directly influences and changes your tern m ' TP. -- i .
