He was born April 17, 1915. in Midway, Utah, to Henry and Lena He worked at a surveyor for Bureau of Reclamation and a carpenter at Brigham Young University for 23 years, retiring in 1977. He also worked as Midway Second Ward custodian- for 27 years. He served as a Temple worker in the Provo LDS Temple. In his spare time he also worked a small fam- 7 "A Burgener Zenger. He married Emily Adelia Hellewell Sept 18, 1946, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a high priest in the LDS Church, serving s in various V - i7 ily farm. Survived by his children, Judy Rae (Karl) Simmons, Umatilla, Ore.; Jerrold Glen (Debra) Zenger, Midway; Evan Robert (Sharlette) Zenger, Duchesne; Laraine (Brian) Jones, Midway; Darryl Vaughn (Brenda) Zenger, Orem; 1 1 grandchildren and six sister, Eva Grose, Park City; and sister, Geo Hiatt, Heber City. Preceded in death by his wife, Emily Adelia Hellewell; and brothers Dean L. Zenger and Ray H. Zenger. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the Midway 2nd LDS Ward, 250 E. 200 South. Viewing Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p,ni, prior to the services at the LDS Church. Faye was active in the LDS Church and held many positions in the Relief Society on the ward and stake level, and also in the MiA program, and as a Sunday School Faye Goodrich, 68, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in Springville after a long battle with bone cancer. She Kenneth ' Goodrich on mar-rie- ... by her children, Paul (Shawnna), Le Ann (Kerry Emery), and Everett (Liz) of Orem; Brian (Diane) of Springville, and Craig (Ana) and Mark (Tamra), both of Salt Lake City. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, on Dec. 22, 1998, her parents and older brother, Clyde, and is survived by her brother, R.G., of Providence and two sisters, Virginia of Vernal, and Billie of Bluebell. A viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-OlpiMortuary, 495 S. State, Orem, Utah. He was born on Sept. 27, 1922, in Tarboro, N.C., to James Alphonso Baker Sr. and Frances Bethel Varner Baker. f William received his education in LEHI - James Evan Slater, age 86. of Lehi, Utah, died Jan. 5, 2000. He was born Sept. 11, 1913, in Lehi. Uuh, to William Allen Wilmington, N.C. Alter completing high school, he entered the Army and served in Europe during World War II. After his release from the military, he returned to North Carolina where he began his career as a pipe fitter in the construction industry. William married Christine Warlick on Dec. 11, 1941 in Dillon, S C. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1954. After converting to the LDS Church, they moved to Utah in 1957. He began working at Geneva Steel shortly after. He worked at Geneva for 25 years retiring as general foreman of the Nitrogen Plant. William was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the branch presidency in North Carolina. While living in Utah, he served in many capacities in the church. William and Christine served a mission to the Washington, D.C., Temple. They also worked in the Provo Temple. William was an avid golfer, winning trophies in the Provo Open and the Utah Open as an amateur. He also was a Softball umpire at Harmon Park. He is survived by his wife, Christine; his grandchildren, Christine (Gregory) Allan of Springville; Carrie (John) Booth of Springville; William (Rixt) Robbing of Morgantown, W.Va.; Cathie (David) Erirkson of Springville; eight his sister, Violet Perry of Tempe, Ariz.; and nieces, Sheila Schmidts and Pat La use and nephew, Dick Perry. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronnie Robbins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at 1 1 a.m. at the Edgemont 4th Ward Chapel, 4000 N. Timpview Drive, Provo. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center St., Provo or on Monday one hour prior to the services at the chapel. James worked at Kennecott ;lri younger brothers, He is survived by his wife Geriu; six stepchildren and 14 stepgrandchildren; his first wife Beverly, daughter Kamerly (Curt Mortenson) of Dubois, Idaho; son Allen (Tami) of Clinton, Utah; daughter Kira, of Salt Lake; and three Clarissa grandchildren, Mortenson, Michael Mortenson and Shaun Kader; siblings, four brothers, thankful to be born in the USA and raised 'in Utah where he , He was made many friends. Graduated from Lincoln High and attended Utah Technical College where he studied auto mechanics and carpentry. He loved working on the family farm and to see the ground turned over behind his tractor. Growing up, he Worked at many different trades and did his very best to help his parents support the family. Some of his favorites included farming, building houses and peddling fruit. He was presently l truck driver. employed as a He served his country in the Army in'Germany from 1956 to 1958. While in Germany, he was able to take a trip to the village in Palestine where hia parents were raised and met his relatives. After the service, he met and married Beverly Ostler. They had three children. They were later divorced but he always kept a special place in his heart for the mother of his children. Met Geraldine E. Koehler, a widow, in 1991, They married on Fob. 24, 1995 and he. inherited six stepchildren and their families. Kamel brought a great love into Gerie's life and became "Grandpa Kamel" to her grandchildren. He tried so hard to live long enough to see "air his grandchildren grow up. He was preceded in death by his par- - Ghazy (Sabah) of Seattle, Wash.; Dean (Sharon) of Selah, Wash.; Omar (Nancy) of Reston, Va.; Abe (Linda) of Provo, Utah; and two sisters, Dana of San Diego, Calif.; and Jeanie (Eric Hyer) of Provo, Utah.
