Show NEW PHONE SERVICE LINES TO HAWAII OPENED OCTOBER 8TH Telephone service between Utah and Hawaii is now as fast and dependable as a call within the United States. Tuesday, Oct. 8, the world's longest and deepest deep-est undersea telephone cable system, linking the mainland of the U. S. with Hawaii was placed in service. "The new cable will provide improved telephone service ser-vice on the hundreds of calls placed to Hawaii annually from Utah" J. Warburton, manager of the local phone company said. From now on an operator requested re-quested to place a call, can punch a few keys on a small keyboard or spin a telephone dial, and in a few seconds, the called phone across the Pacific will ring, and the conversation will toe as clear as a call next door.
