Show Council - PERSONALS (Continued from page I) the freeway becoming a reality. Other road matters under consideration were the problem of extending N. Chapel St. through to Sixth Ave., and the possible purchase of a portable hot mulch plant to improve winter patching of streets. Another problem is the relocation of one of the fire sirens toward the southeast portion of the city. A windmill frame, purchased from Wash Jenkins for $35, will be moved and used to mount the siren, but the council has yet to find a suitable location for the windmill. It was reported that the fire truck has been tuned up and placed in first class condition. Plans are going forward for exwater main for tending the at least 1,000 feet north of Sugar St. on N. Main, with a hydrant at the end for fire protection in that area. A reduction in the county sheriff's budget has not permitted his department to take over the manning of the radio transmitter in the basis, leaving city hall on a Midvale city with the expense, which the sheriff's department had agreed to assume after Jan. 1. The sheriff has agreed to pay half the salaries and to place an officer at the Center St. school crossing. Members of the council suggested that it might be more satisfactory if the sheriffs office assumed the entire radio work and the city provided a patrolman at the school The night men at the city hall must also answer fire alarms. The council took under consideration the matter of creating a city stockpile of crushed gravel for future roadwork. 24-ho- Mr & Mrs James Cristle, Royal-to- Minn., were recent visitors of Mr & Mrs J.
