Mr & Mrs Delos Beckstead will be two of those having reserved tables for the banquet, Mr Beck stead having been the local DSA winner from Sandy. Both he and his wife will be introduced and honored along with all the other winners from throughout the state. From this group of distinguished young men will be chosen the three state winners. Featured speaker at the banquet will be Hugh F. McKenna, national Jaycee president from Omaha, Neb. Alice Cheeves Christian. She married C. A. Crapo June 24, 1914, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Survivors include her husband; one son, Charles Marvin, Sandy; one daughter, Mrs W. K. "(Doris) Moore, Copperton; four grandchildren; and the following brothers and sister: Thomas C. Christian, Mrs J. P. (Belle) Jensen, Sandy; and Jefferson C. Christian, Salt Lake. The funeral was conducted by Bishop Clarence Hansen in the Sandy Second Ward Chapel Saturday, Feb. 11. Speakers were J. Clement Crapo and G. Reed Sanderson. Acting as pall bearers were Don and Sterling Jensen, James and Richard Crapo, and Gary and Collins Nelson, all nephews of the 8, at her residence, 448 West Pioneer Ave., of a heart ailment. Mrs Gladys Wager, Idaho Falls, visited recently with Mr & Mrs Brooks Elkington and family and Mr & Mrs Theron Jaynes and family. Mrs Wager is the mother of Mrs Elkington and Mrs Jaynes. The Sandy Second Ward Home-buildgirls gave a party for their fathers Friday, Feb. 3. Refreshments were served to 40 preceded by games, dancing, and a program. The party was under direction of Mrs Del Margetts, Mrs Lynn Jaynes, and Mrs Elmer Smith, teachers of the girls. The Primary presidency were guests. The Special Interest Class of the Sandy Fourth and Fifth Wards held a party Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the home of H. J. Fletter, honoring M. O. Nelsen, class president, and his wife, who are moving to 880 East 700 North, Sandy. Mr & Mrs Nelsen will now be members of the Sandy First Ward. Games were played and refreshments served to 23. Miss Goff spoke of her experiences as a missionary of the LDS Church in Old Mexico. Mrs E. L Crawford left Friday for San Diego to spend a few days with Mr & Mrs George P. (Reodell) Nichols and son, Michael. Mrs Nic hols is a daughter of Mrs Crawford. Mr Nichols is a supervisor engineer at Convair Aircraft Co.
