Show Gredcent LORNA ALLCOOD, Rtporttr VAUNA FAIRBOURN WEDS FRED E. MOOSMAN Fred E, Moosman claimed Miss Vauna Fairbourn for his bride Friday morning. The pair spoke their vows in the Salt Lake temple. A wedding breakfast immediately following the ceremony honored them in the Hotel Utah. The bride in a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Fairbourn of Crescent and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Moosman are parents of the bride' groom. A reception in the Avalon Ballroom Friday evening honored the newlyweds. The young couple are honeymooning in Mesa, Ariz. Sunday School officers and teachers faculty meeting will be Monday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Crescent ward. Mr. and Mrs. Tedd Dangerfield have moved to their new home in Salt Lake. William J. Musser of Murray was the guest speaker in sacrament meeting Sunday evening. Merle Fairbourn gave a few remarks. At the meeting Wednesday evening, Arthur E. Peterson, Superintendent of Jordan District and Mr. Harrod, head of transportation, were the speakers. Merle Fairborun of Keosauqua1, Iowa, attended the wedding reception of his sister, Miss Vauna Fairbourn on Friday evening. Miss Wilma Fairbourn returned home Sunday, Nov. 16 from her trip to France. She reached New York Nov. 11 after travelling five days by ship. She spent three days finishing up national reports and two days visiting a friend in New York before she flew home by plane. She has made no plans for the future yet, but she will spend much time reporting around the state, what she has learned this summer. Miss Fairbourn had been on the trip since last June. The trip was sponsored by the Lions clubs. Crescent Lions and their partners entertained District Governor Alton C. Melville, Cabinet Secretary Donald Nickle, zone chairmen, and their wives at a turkey dinner Thursday night at the Crescent school house. They also welcomed Wilma Fairbourn back home. She entertained the group with a resume of her recent trip to France, which she illustrated with the use of colored elides. Over 30 guests were present Club President Eldon Smith was in charge. Berkey of South Gate, Calif., and Ervin Roy Olsen of the U.S. Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto C. Olsen of Sandy. The marriage took place Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Arbor wedding chapel at Huntington Park, Calif. The bride wore a lovely model of traditional white satin entrain, fashioned with lace yolk and long pointed sleeves, with an attractive lace overskirt Her net fingertip veil was caught in a hallo of seed pearls and rhinestones. She wore an orchid and carried a bride's bouquet of carnations and rosebuds. A reception, honoring the couple, folowed at the home of the maid of honor. The couple will make their home in San Diego. Gordon Nielsen family spent Thanksgiving in Provo with their parents, and on Saturday journeyed to Logan to be with Mrs. Nielsen's grandmother. Most popular young man in West Jordan last week was the infant son born to Mr. and Mrs. Grandale Finlayson on Nov. 20. His four sisters acorded him a royal welcome into the family circle. A Utah Copper grant to U.S.A.C. is being used for experiments to improve RambouiUet sheep, to study how copper and other trace elements may help cure diseases among cattle and fruit and , J improve crop yields. A similar grant to B.Y.U. is being used for research in the field of metallurgy. The grant to the U. of U. is helping to solve problems in metal nuclear reactor mining, while part of it will be used to build a that in turn will help solve other problems through the magi , of atomic energy.
