Heber C. Kimball, inset above, built the home in 1845 when Nauvoo was a thriving city of 20,000. He was a leader in the historic exodus of the Mormon pioneers in 1846 and in the settlement settle-ment of the Valley of the Great Salt Lake where he became a counselor to colonizer Brigham Young. Coming from Utah to preside at the dedication will be throe members of the Church's Council of the Twelve Apostles and President J. Reuben Clark Jr., shown above, first counselor to President David 0. McKay in the Church's First Presidency. |
