The celebration will run Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 and several events have been planned by the Hispanic Heritage Observance Ad Hoc Committee. To tickle taste buds, the committee has a burrito sale planned Wednesday and Thursday. tickets for $2 are available through the end of today and can be obtained from any Hispanic Heritage Committee member. The burritos can be picked up at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the north end of Bldg. 1231; and at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the south center doors of Bldg. 225. On Sept. 18, the Special Emphasis Program Managers will host a luncheon at 11:30 a.m., at the NCO club. Main speaker will be Rita Davenport, renowned lecturer and television commentator. Tickets for the luncheon are $6.50. each. The topic is "Empowerment for the future." In addition to the luncheon training, two other sessions will be available at the base theater that same day a.m. and p.m. These are free. The base library will have table displays and will offer a list of books on Hispanic heritage and culture.
