Show NEWS Festival tickets avollabfe A patriotic celebration w21 be held in the Brigham Young University Marriott Center in Provo on June 29 at 6:30 p.m. The program will recognize the various branches of the military, with patriotic songs and an outstanding national speaker. America's Freedom Festival is held to pay tribute to the men and women of the armed forces who continue to defend national freedom. The festival organizers have reserved 620 complimentary tickets for Hill AFB personnel These are choice chair seating below the concourse. One ticket is needed per person. Additionally, a limited number of tickets are available to any military people for a reception just prior to the program. Only one ticket is needed per person and they are welcome to bring their family or guest. This is also free. If you have questions, call Bruce Bryan at Ext. 403. Model qualifications outlined To be eligible for the Sduthwest Asia Service Medal, a service member must have been in the area of operations between Aug. 2, 1990, and a date to be determined. Additionally, a service member must have participated in one of the following activities: Attached to or regularly serving for one or more days with an organization participating in ground or shore (military) operations. Attached to or regularly serving for one or more days aboard a naval vessel directly supporting mili- tary operations. Actually participating as a crew member in one or more aerial flights directly supporting military Black Powder Ammunition-Gun- Archery Fishing Gear Buy, Sell, Trade, Guns Hours: 10-- 6 Hunting-Fishin- g June 14, 1991 operations in the area designated above. Serving on temporary duty for 30 consecutive days or 60 nonconsecutive days. These time limitations may be waived for people participating in actual combat operations. The medal and bronze star device is authorized for participation in Operation Desert Storm from Jan. 17 to a date to be determined. Consequently, if you participated in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm, you wear the SWASM with the device. The SWASM is worn below the Vietnam Service Medal and above the Humanitarian Service MedaL Medals should be available by September 1991. Although the medal cannot be updated into the Consolidated Base Personnel Office computer system until January 1992, a source document, Air Force Form 104, will be filed in your personnel records. Service members serving less than 181 days must contact Personal Affairs for records update.
