Cindy Kellough AFLC Office of Public Affairs AFB, Ohio (AFLCNS) Taking a cue from private industry, Air Force Logistics Command is developing and implementing a new training plan for its employees. The new plan will use a systematic approach to training that is based on occupation. WRIGHT-PATTERSO- N "We're going to determine exactly what training is needed in each occupation and develop a plan from that," said Chuck Jackson, director of the program. Although some industries have developed unique "campus" environments, such as Motorola University, AFLC has decided to change the original AFLC University organizational designations to Human Resources Development. This change is being done to prevent confusion during budget deliberations and to avoid potential confusion with existing accredited educational institutions. Mr. Jackson indicated that occupation review teams composed of subject matter experts will do this by reviewing job performance requirements, training applications, supervisor inputs and results of occupational training surveys. This will determine what knowledge, skills and abilities a specific occupation requires, and develop a training program for that occupation. Once training needs have been defined, Directorate.
