Show Meadow lessly donates endless hours to create a better learning environment at Meadow Elementary. She has volunteered to substitute in classes, covered the office, set up appointments, decorated, planned parties, organized fund raisers, directed the PTA board to form McGruff house, increased volunteerism, and arranged service projects. She has organized countless volunteer hours to assist with fund raisers, reading to students, assisting in classrooms and on field trips, etc. She is described as being a model of humanity for all to follow, always having a smile on her face and a sunny attitude. Joy Sorensen, past PTA pres ident and current board member, is another one of the overworked, not paid volunteers at Meadow, says her recognition description. She served as PTA president last year and her ser- vice has never ended. She is the knowledge base of the board. Whenever there is a question, Joy knows or finds out the answer. She can be seen at Meadow on a daily basis, working on her volunteer chain, going on a field trip, helping with dads and doughnut, reading to children, substitute Five family generations five generations of their family. After her paid job ends at noon, you can find her helping a teacher with Trace and other computer needs with a positive willing attitude. She is a consultant and confident for many teachers. Annette Verhaal, principal, comes to the school from Granite School District where she served as the early childhood literacy specialist. Annette is extremely knowledgeable in balanced literacy, student centers, work board, classroom management and gifted and talented.
