Staff, volunteers honored at Meadow Elementary Representatives of the staff and volunteers at Meadow Elementary were honored during the April 28 meeting of the Alpine School District board 'of education. The meeting was held at the school. Honored were Eric Giles, Gayle Hubbard, Julie Adams, Joy Sorensen, Glenna Scribner, and Annette Verhaal. Eric Giles is head custodian at the school. Described as the schools' "right hand man," he is always willing to step in and assist in a variety of duties such as recess duty, bus duty, playground duty, dads and doughnuts, discipline and any other request that might come his way. He takes an interest in the daily lives of the students, talking with them and making them feel important. When asked to take care of something, it is accomplished imme- Gayle Hubbard, hourly secretary, has been the driving force in keeping Meadow Elementary afloat this year. From last July and every day since, she has been bombarded with questions as staff members learn their jobs. She is efficient in her use of time. She accomplishes the work of two or three people. She is tenacious in follow through. She keeps track of numerous situations simultaneously and completes each task in a thoughtful, caring manner. She makes an incredible daily contribution to the students, teachers and administration at Meadow. Her skill and personal warmth are valued.
