Smith will be the featured guest speaker at the November meeting of the Utah County Gastric Bypass Patient Support Group. It will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at the American Fork Hospital, 170 N. 1100 East, American Fork. This is a casual and informative meeting and is for all patients, their supporters and those interested in learning more about the surgical treatment of obesity. Center Street. The salon's grand opening celebration will be held Friday, Dec. 5. CK Paul's full service salon offers a wide range of hair-car- e services, including colors, weaves, perms, cuts and styles, as well as pedicures, manicures, acrylic nails and permanent makeup. The salon uses Redken and Logics color lines and sells Aveda. Sebastian and Matrix hair care products. The salon is owned by longtime Pleasant Grove residents Kent and Connie Measom. The staff includes stylists Paulette Measom, Liz Miller and Annette West, and nail artist Jill Petersen. The award was presented by the Utah State Office of Education .during the annual Applied Technology Conference held in Logan. The award is presented annually in recognition of "innovations, foreword thinking, and exemplar' teaching" in the area of technology education. Participants will enjoy a delicious turkey dinner, a panel discussion and take home a booklet of favorite holiday recipes.
