Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 27, in the Sego Lily Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Lehi City Cemetery. Melvin L. Thompson Melvin Leon Thompson, 68, Nephi, died Nov. 22, 1995 at his home following a choking accident. tie was born Dec. 21, 1926 in Boulder, Utah, a son of James and Clinton Melvin (Debbie) Thompson, all of American Fork; Marvin James (Jill) Thompson, Linda Barbara (John) Sheets; Colleen Ellen Thompson; Carolyn (Donny) Massey, all of Nephi; 16 grandchildren; eight Peterson ' married LaVenna M. 'i Thompson. He f - I ? Thomas Jan. 8, 1947 in Provo. He was a bricklayer and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the LDS Church. He loved hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of Nephi; three sons and three daughters: Rod (Kathy) Thompson Madson Berdell Thompson, Bountiful; Elise Ott, Panguitch; Larita Alvey, Imperial Beach, Calif; Edna Haycock, Lehi. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Thompson, and daughter, Rosemarie Thompson; four sisters: Myrtle Woolsey, Hilda Whitener, Myra Woolsey and Minnie Tippets. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 25, in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, Lehi. Griffith, Mechanicsville, in Salt Lake City of complications due to pneumonia. She was born Oct. 5, 1917 in Roma, Iowa to Charles Lester and Catherine Esther Koppenhaver Starry. She married Leslie Harold Griffith Feb. 1, 1948 in Springville, Iowa. He died Dec. 13, 1991. Lenore was an active member of the American Fork Community Presbyterian Church and served as the newsletter typist. She also worked as a school secretary in American Fork. During World War II she worked as a telephone operator in California. She is survived by a son: David (Mary) Griffith, Sacramento, Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 27, in the American Fork Community Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Fork American Community Church or the Presbyterian American Diabetes Association, 340 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. those who took part in the services, the floral offerings and contributions.
