Chiropractic for Health By Dr. Bryon Rosquist, D.C ARTHRITIS MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU THINK - ideas about and otten misconceived Many of us have preconceived certain diseases. Arthritis is a case in point. First of all, we often assume that arthritis is one disease. This misconception is fueled by drug manufacturers and sometimes by the medical community itself. There are, in fact, a number of types of arthritis, the most familiar being osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout. Secondly, most of think of arthritis as a disease of "old age;" while osteoarthritis does tend to appear more frequently as people age, it is not limited to the elderly. Finally, and perhaps most significantly, we often consider arthritis to be incurable, a disease to be endured and hopefully made bearable by aspirin andor cortisone. This is not necessarily true. If you have been diagnosed as arthritic, you may want to discuss your case with a chiropractor. The chiropractic profession has an amazing track record in the treatment of this "incurable" disease.
