The Pioneers smashed the Wasps homecoming in a 6 "wow" win Friday. The first quarter brought very little action except a sack by Dan Wilson causing a fumble that was recovered by Scott Hampton. Lehi got the ball down to the one but a lost fumble kept them from scoring. On the first possession of the second quarter Wasatch drove to the four where they were stopped and forced to try a field goal. The pass and finally a Joe Mattson plunge. Marc Wilson converted the PAT to give the Pioneers a 3 lead. Wasatch scored twice quickly in the fourth to move to a substantial lead of 16-- and most in the stadium thought the game was over. Mattson took the kick-of- f back 32 yards to put the Pioneers in good field position at the 47. With a Wasatch penalty to counter an sack, Lehi built up a drive that started with three completions to Jay Hill for 33 yards and ended with an eight-yar- d Mattson run. Wilson made the PAT to bring the Pioneers within two points with 36 seconds left in the game. A picture perfect onside kick gave Lehi the ball on the Wasatch 48. Brockbank accounted for 74 of them and Christoflerson caught four for 41. Hill and Matt Ekins caught for 33 and 30, respectively.
