Open houses will be held September 24 for stake auxiliary leaders in Utah. On October 1 and 2 the open houses will be held for General Conference visitors from outside Utah. The public address system was purchased with funds earned by PTA and students in last year's successful can collection contest. Several speakers are still to be 4 installed. Lehi City aided the project by furnishing the steel poles for the speakers. This year the PTA is sponsoring a sweatshirt sale to earn funds for another worthy project. Nursing refresher course scholarships The American Fork Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary is sponsoring valued at nursing scholarships several hundred dollars. These are available for inactive Registered Nurses who need to take a refresher course in order to get back into active nursing practice. "This has been a very worthwhile project for the volunteers," says LaRae Greenwood, director of volunteers. "We are glad to be able to help someone return to nursing who could not otherwise afford it." One registered nurse who recently took a refresher course explains the difference it hasjmacle in her life. It had been nine years since I had worked in a hospital. Alumni, students and friends of BYU are invited to attend the Olympics and Dunk the festivities, said Karen Paulus, assistant student coordinator for the Homecoming Committee and a junior in education from Riverside, Calif.
