Show CASTLE VALLEY TIMES SECESSION TIMES - APRIL 15, 1998 — 5 — THE TOWN ASKED THAT THE FOLLOWING PERMIT INFORMATION BE PRINTED: 1) BUILDING PERMITS ($25) are required for the following: a) New construction that is greater than 120 sq. feet. or more than one story b) Construction/additions that increase the external perimeter of existing structures c) Construction/remodeling that changes the use of a building (I) All other remodeling if the cost of labor and materials exceed $500. Reroofing and mechanical should be applied for through the Grand County Building Inspectors Office 435 259-1343. 2) Signatures from Karen Nelson required for NEW UTILITIES ($5), for either new electric power or septic system applications. Plot plans required with setbacks shown. 3) TEMPORARY DWELLING PERMITS—$25 4) CONDITIONAL USE, HOME OCCUPATION, OR PREMISE OCCUPATION PERMITS—$25 5) BUSINESS LICENSES—contact the Town Clerk, Dorothy Harding, 259-9828—$10 6) WELLS/ WATER RIGHTS—contact John Groo, 259-7950, approximately $210, but varies. SEPTIC SYSTEM PERMITS: The Town now requires an application for a septic system. The applicant needs to pay the $5 application fee mentioned above and supply a plot plan (drawn to scale) to Karen Nelson that contains the following information: 1) Property lines, road easement lines and setbacks 2) Well and Septic system locations 3) Existing structures with their uses designated 4) Proposed construction (designate use) 5) Dimensions locating the above on property 6) Lot #, name, address, phone #, and signature of lot owner and builder (if different) 7) # copies (1 for Town. 1 for Health Dept. and 1 for applicant’s records) 8) Check with neighbors for location of their wells and septic systems (must have this info) Wells and septic systems must be at least 50 feet from easements and property lines. Septic systems should be 200 feet from ALL neighbors’ wells (minimum 100 feet). Septic systems must be 100 feet from ALL neighbors’ septic systems. The health department will need to know how many bedrooms you have or are planning in future additions in order to specify the size of septic tank and drain field you will need. All of the above permits may be obtained from the TOWN BUILDING PERMIT PERSON, KAREN NELSON (435) 259-8820. except for the water permits and business licenses.
