An outstanding feature of the year was the combined P T A. meeting at which Mrs. Ruth Vine Tyler of Murray, addressed the assemblage. An interesting review of P.T.A. advancement was given by Mrs. Tyler who also gave a number of suggestions for programs. Families of the students were Invited to frolic with them in the Hallowe'en party which was attended by a large crowd. Steven and Dixie Peck Houghton welcomed a new baby son, newDec. 11. The black-haire- d comer weighed in at seven pounds and 1 1 ounces. He will be named Richard Thomas. There is one pleased brother, Michael. Delighted grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Peck and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Johnson of Lehi, while On the "Back to School Night," September, the room mothers took charge and introduced the teachers. The room mothers assisted again on parents visiting day, by introducing the parents to the teachers of the various in rooms. Most recent project was the preparation of a Christmas treat for all those in the school, prior to the holidays. Each camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers has been given the chal'enge of raising the membership by 10 percent. Camp Bluebell has gone over this quota. The camp is honored by have three members who are officers for the North Utah County Camp. These are Fern Russon, Fay Boltz and Ethel Hunger. Also an honor to the camp are several members who have passed the age of 80 years, with one, Daugher, Lettie Gunmund-se- n, remaining well and active at 94. The camp has gone .over the quota set for the purchase of the books, Our Pioneer Heritage." The proceeds raised from these sales are assigned toward the maintenance of the Pioneer Museum on Main Street in Salt Lake City. The message of Kate B. Car- ter, national president, is read by tthe captain at each meeting. The salute to the flag is given each time by the assembled members. Roll call is answered by the registered .mmber of each one. Camp meetings are opened and closed with prayer. Membership is paid 100 percent each year. The penny jar receives contributions at each meeting, which are used for Mrs. Lettie Peck Fork is the of J A notable event of the yule tide season was the presentation of a Christmas cantata by the Fourth Ward Choir, Sun- day evening Dec. 22. The composition by Fred B. Hoton, was entitled, "The World's Redeem- er." Lornell Bateman was the conductor, and Carole Peck accompanied. There were 40 voices included in the choir. Explorer Brent Jones of Lehi, served on the planning committee for the meet which included some 35,000 Explorers. Robert Chatfleld Is district chiarman, with Alvin Broad-ben- t, Dee Ray Russon, Ernest Oliver and LeRoy Gammon on the district advancement committee.
