On that same day, the letter from the General Authorities of the Church was received, with authorization for the start of the building. On April the building was laid out and the fottings and foundation work The attention of members of the Lehl Stake, as well as the LDS Church leaders here, has been centered on the building program, and unified efforts have brought this project well toward its realization. The new stake center, now under construction on the site of the old stake tabernalce and seminary building, has taken form and the exterior features have been largely completed. The plan is to place the roof in time to nrivattH with fntorlrtr ffnfcViintr without any appreciable delay due to weather conditions. Further explanation of the progress of the building program is given in another report. A featureof the groundbreaking ceremony, which took place on April 3, was the opening of the repository box, which was secured from the cornerstone of the tabernacle when it was razed. This box contained many interesting mementoes and historic accounts and relics of early pioneer days in Lehi, including copies of the current newspaper, the old "Lehi Banner." All were in excellent condition. Crackers, found within the box, were explained as a means of preserving these articles from the effects of moisture which was absorbed by the crackers.
