Mr. Peterson said his committee met Friday to discuss what measures should be taken with regard o their recommendation. They felt that, with Dale Despain's recommendation of the East site and their study of the problem over the past year, they should continue pressing for acceptance of the East site. The committee eliminated other sites during their long study oi the situation and came to the conclusion that the East site would be the best location for a new high school from all standpoints. When they met with the School Board to present their recommendation," School Board members suggested they should submit more than one recommendation and allow the Board to make the final decision. Mr. Peterson said the committee feels they should try to convince the School Board of the advantages of the East site and try to encourage them to buy and develop it. Mr. Peterson pointed out that the City Council has not voted definitely on the Committee's suggestion that the City help drain the site and build roads into it. The suggestion was presented to the Council at regular meeting last week, and while various Council members discussed the problem, it 'was not brought to a vote. The Committee may possibly meet with the Council again to seek a definite answer.
