Haws Durfey, operator of the Durfey cleaning plant here, has returned after attending the national dry cleaners convention in Chicago, Illinois. He was one of five from Utah who attended. The intensive convention course included a memorable speech by President MacFarlane, president of the Frigidaire division of Gen eral Motors, who stressed the Golden Rule and its application in business, pointing out that it is the "little man," the employee who keeps industry rolling and America prospering. An outstanding display of equipment was held on the navy pier and included some 800 booths. Mr. Durfey was gratified to note that he has now in use in his plant the most modern and efficient types of labor-savin- g machinery. A tour of many of the most prominent Chicago plants confirmed this fact, he reported. In many cases an elaborate front entrance is supplemented by second hand early ApriL Everyone is invited to attend and gifts will be distributed to the ladies and children.
