Show DIAL SYSTEM PLANS GIVEN BY PHONECOMPANY Plana to install dial telephone service in the Bingthairn Canyon exchange were 'announced today by J. !R. Warburton, manager for the Mountain States Telephone Company. It is estimated the cost of the project wiHl exceed $150,000.00. Preliminary work on the new system is now underway. .Construction .Con-struction crews 'and cable splicers splic-ers are busy adding lines to make available one party service to customers desiring it In the Bingham Bing-ham Canyon, Copperton and Lark areas. At the present time Lark is being served on a rural basis with up to eight families sharing one line. DD.T. Construction Company was awarded the contract yesterday yester-day to construct a new telephone bu.klinig in the northwest corner of Copperton to house the intricate intri-cate dial equipment. The building build-ing will be of masonry construction construc-tion with a brick front. Coppcr-iton Coppcr-iton was selected by the telephone company as the site of the new buiildorug as they consider it to be near the center of the area to be served. In conjunction with the change . over to dial, all telephone numbers num-bers will be changed to conform with the nation-wide numbering system. The new wuirDbers (will consist of the prefix PSRospect 4 followed by four numerals. Telephone Tele-phone numbers to be assigned are determined according to the class of service provided. Number Num-ber assignments to coin telephones, tele-phones, business estaibhshments and residential services are made so the caling load throuigh the dial equipment wiil be distributed distribut-ed to achieve a maximum of efficiency. Mr. Warburton said a representative repre-sentative of the telephone company com-pany would visit every telephone user during the summer months to equip the telephones (for dial operation, assign new numbers, discuss available service improvements, im-provements, and answer any questions customers may have on the use of a dial telephone. |
