Show Page Six II Ml tourney victors crowned; floor hockey, hoop to begin by Dave Hosick Chronicle staff It's been a busy week in Intramural competition as champions were crowned in the basketball, turkey backgammon, darts, trot and volleyball tournaments and action gets underway in the last two events of the quarter, floor hockey and the basketball tournament. Backgammon action saw Bruce Dimattia continue his domination over the rest of the field as he coasted to the championship. pre-holid- ay Jim Cielinski tossed his way to the championship of the darts competition and he has a chance to qualify for the regional ACU-- I Tournament, which will be held in February at Colorado State University. -Action in the 3 on-3 basketball tournament saw the Elite capture the championship of the pro division and the Vanilla Thunder bunch outdistance the field in the rec division. The Elite claimed wins over Greased Lightning, the Hoopmonsters and the Grounds on the way to the title. action saw the Elite stop Quarter-fin- al Greased Lightning, the Hoopmonsters win their game by forfeit, the Grounds handle the Turtles and the Pike Eagles stop Slooten's LL ' XV . There was exciting action in the annual turkey trot race as Steve Travis, Robert Clementz, Paul Tye, Barb Eastman, Norma Polovitz and Karen Bancroft raced to capture individual titles. Pat Watkins captured the honor of finishing closest to the predicted time of finish. Watkin's prediction was less the five seconds faster than the actual finishing time. Volleyball team titles went to Sheri Johnson's B-1-00 Team, the Outdoor Program squad, Setting Bull and the Ballif BeUes. Sheri Johnson's Team marched to the title in the co-rpro division by defeating Z People in the championship match. Semi-fin- al action saw Sheri Johnson's Team dash the title hopes of the Flat Foots and Z People were too much for the Body Mechanics. ec Co-rrecreation division tournament action saw the DT's, Outdoor Program team, Sin Fuelers and Ozone post quarterfinal wins. Semi-fin- al action saw the Outdoor Program team eliminate the DT's and the Sin Fuelers outlast the Ozone team. The Outdoor Program team staked its claim to the title with a win over the Sin Fuelers. Men's division quarter-fin- al action saw Setting Bull handle the Gas Passers, Don's Cons roll over the Biohasbeens, the Super Sets ec advance by forfeit and the Lerts stop the Cheques. Setting Bull and the Super Sets posted wins in semi-fin- al action to qualify for the championship and Setting bull claimed the title by defeating the Super Sets. Semi-fin- al action in the women's division saw the Ballif Belles move on with a win over the Austin 3 100 team and the Netters win by forfeit.
