Show AWARD BANQUETS SET FOR NEXT WEEK BY UTAH COPPER Awards in recognition of 20 and 30 years of loyal service will be presented 357 employees of Utah Copper Division of Kenn-ecott Kenn-ecott Copper Corporation at special spe-cial banquets April 24 and 25. The 60 employees to be honored hon-ored for 30 years of service and the 297 to receive 20-year service ser-vice certificates, represent a total to-tal of 7,740 years of employment with the company. Some 1,300 other veteran employees em-ployees and guests are expected to attend the two banquets to be held at the Newhouse Hotel, said L. F. Pett, general manager of the Utah Copper Division. On Wednesday, April 24, 297 employees with 20 years of service ser-vice will be presented with gold lapel pins by J. C. Landenberger, general superintendent of operations oper-ations who will also act as toast-master. toast-master. Certificates will be issued to the group later. On Thursday, April 25, 60 employees em-ployees with 30 years of service will be presented engraved, gold wrist watches by Mr. Pett and C. D. Michaelsen, general manager man-ager of the Western Mining Division. Di-vision. Toastmaster will be F. C. Green, assistant general manager manag-er of the Utah Copper Division. The annual affair will open at 6:30 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday, with a social hour on the mezzanine flooor and Gold room. The banquet will begin at 7:30 p.m. Annual service award banquets have been held by Kennecott since 1926. There are 1,411 former form-er and present recipients of service ser-vice awards employed by the company or retired. All are special spe-cial guests at the annual award banquets. A total of 600 have received 30-year awards, and 811, 20-year awards. |
