Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Toni Stewart BHS ANNUAL PLAY "THE NUTT FAMILY" TO BE GIVEN THURSDAY Due to the model United Nations Na-tions assembly at the U of U, the date of Bingham High's annual an-nual school play has been changed chang-ed from Friday to Thursday, a day earlier, according to Arthur Baker, director. The play will be given in the school auditorium auditor-ium at Copperton this Thursday night, April 25, and curtain time is 8:00 p.m. This year's production is a three-act farce entitled "The Nutt Family", written by Walter Blake and published by Samuel French. It deals with humorous situations arising from the fact that a family by the name of Nutt purchase a home that was previously pre-viously a mental sanitarium. You can imagine the unusual situations that develop when former patients begin returning for treatment. I Don't miss this fine production. Atiendi Youth Conference Norman Bianchi, a senior, and also student body president, represented re-presented B II S at the annual Rotary Youth Conference held in Salt Lake City Sunday through Tuesday, April 14-16. lie is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Bianchi of Bingham. Assembly Riverton Junior High presented present-ed their traveling assembly to the entire student body Wednesday. Wednes-day. New Club A Key Club is now being or panied in the hi?h school, un- der the sponsorship of the Mid-vale Mid-vale Kiwanis Club. The Club is a service and a scholastic club. Twenty-five boys will be admitted admit-ted this year. Elections Last Thursday, candidates were nominated for the offices of student stu-dent body president and secretary. secre-tary. The other student body officers will be elected in the fall so that the students coming up from the valley will have a chance to participate in elections. The nominees were Andy Tru-jillo Tru-jillo and Harry Pappasideris for president, and Eleanor -Marko-vich and Marie Lovat for secretary secre-tary and treasurer. All week the halls and rooms have been decorated with signs for the "Hot Rods" and the "Rare Pair". Students have been looking look-ing forward to the special campaign cam-paign assembly to be held Thursday. Thurs-day. Party members have been racking their brains to try and win the votes of the student body. Friday afternoon, cheerleading tryouts were held to pick the head cheerleader for next year. Darlene Carpenter was chosen. After the campaign assembly Thursday, the ballots were handed hand-ed out and the students will vote on the leaders for next year. Baseball Last Friday, the Miners' baseball base-ball team again tasted defeat at the hands of the South High School Cubs. Final score was 15 to 6. Monday the Miners traveled travel-ed to St. Joseph of Ogden where they downed the Jayhawks 10-2. |
