"It's either the slow cooker or the microwave," says Mrs. Evan (Bonnie) Christensen of Thatcher. The mother of two active teenage daughters still living at home and a member of the world of work herself, Mrs. Christensen means what she says. She works 40 hours a week at Mountain View Nursing Home in Tremonton where she is employed as the bookkeeper, among other things. It fell her duty, pleasure too, for instance, to play Santa Claus at" the hursing home Christmasparty:! Later, she took her costume andfc toured her own neighborhood to see if she could fool the neighbors. She couldn't. "You're the only four-fohigh Santa Claus I know," said one neighbor who guessed her right off. Mrs. Christensen says many people feel working at a nursing home is a sad experience. "It really isn't," she professes. "We have a lot of fun with those people." Mr. Christensen is a Thiokol employee. But the family also runs a large operation in Faust Valley as well. The couple are the parents of six children: JoAnn, the oldest, recently married and lives in Malta, Idaho. "She married the boy next door ... and after all these years they finally found each other again," Mrs. Christensen laughed. The wedding was like old home week. Their oldest son, Claude, works for the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver. Daughter, Tami, is the wife of Tremonton policeman, Bill Meyers. And son, Cordell, is a yearly employee of U & I Inc. in Garland. The two active daughters at home are Lynette and Kayla. Lynette plays trumpet in the stage band, the LanSirs, which left this week on a California tour. Kayla has spent the past several weeks as stage director for the student musical, "Pajama Game" which recently concluded. Both daughters are members of the A Capella choir. Mrs. Christensen takes an active interest in, the girl's choir activities since she is choir director in the Thatcher-Penros- e Ward. She also sings with a sextet and usually gets the call at the nursing home to organize musical programs for the residents. "This place around here is a little bit like Grand Central Station, with kids coming and going," Mrs. Christensen confessed. Hobbies? If she has any, which she says she doesn't have time for, it's antiques. Her beautiful wooden dining table once belonged to her mother. She found the chairs in the basement of the Brigham City Library and completed the set.
