Palmer of Park Valley Ward has received a call to serve an LDS mission to the mission. She will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City Oct. 16. California-Sacrament- Millie This week's Good Cook award goes to the women's lib section of the population as Phyllis Feller of Tremonton receives the dubious acknowledgement. Being the "thoroughly modern Millie" when it comes to the kitchen, Phyllis believes in equal rights, all the way. "If you want something to eat, then get in there and make it", is Mrs. Feller's motto. Phyllis's husband, Lee, a retired electronics engineer for the FAA, has felt the women's lib movement where it really hurts,-h- is stomach. "I'm sure glad the works," sighed Mr. Feller. Ever since Craig and Lee, their two sons, got married and the senior Fellers went into their golden years, Phyllis has adopted her liberated kitchen philosophy. "Don't get me wrong,- -I believe in well balanced, nourishing, instant meals, such as TV dinners and canned beans. After all, my husband, Lee, still has to keep up his strength to wash the dishes." When they moved from Las Vegas to Utah after their retirement, the Fellers soon discovered that having nothing to do was really quite boring, so Phyllis' love for food and the kitchen led her to the Western Trails Cafe in Tremonton. A cook?-- or a dishwasher? No, she is a waitress."I enjoy the Trails because of the colorful personalities that frequent the hallowed halls," Phyllis mused."Farmers, construction people, and truckdrivers are my kind of folks," she said. As for her husband, Lee, well he has found the strength to help his son, Craig, out on his photography business and has even found enough energy to take a few classes in Real Estate at Utah State ' University in Logan. As for Mrs. Feller's favorite recipes, well, just try these out on your tender taste buds. . ... Place in pan on stove with moderate, flame and warm until desired temperature is reached. Place beans on plate with spoon and just watch them disappear. SALISBURY STEAK TV DINNER Preheat oven to 425 degrees and place the package on the counter to remove the cardboard. Once this is done, place the aluminum package into the oven for thirty minutes. After it has cooked, place it on the counter to cool. Beware of hungry fingers that want to sample that delicious, industrialized gravy before it is ready to be served. RAW CARROTS Choose your carrots carefully, selecting only the crisper specimens. Peel your carrot with a downward motion, away from the body, snipping off the ends and applying salt for that added touch. OREO COOKIES Yes,-a- nd f n id Mrs. Lliltla Palmer Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people wonder if you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Pen Women Meet PORK AND BEANS . o h it can-open- what would today's modern Good Cook do without that Oreo treat to top off a meal with a good, well-balanc- fortifying dessert? For the discriminating eater, just take the cookie apart and scrape off the cream filling, placing it on a saucer next to his plate. Meanwhile, throw the rest of the cookie to your pet dog, who really doesn't care. 'If..... wvf 3 To Church meets on Sunday mornings in Bear River High School's Visual Aid Room, at 9 am.
