Mr. and Mrs. Alan Eve-ra- rd Roche were honored at a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Barnes. 150 members of the family were present. A turkey and barbequed lamb dinner with all the trimmings was served to everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Roche were married June 22, 1915, at Brigham City. They are the parents of 15 living children, and have 67 grandchildren A Tea Planned ' f For Pageant Jv j M'ss Jean Bronson and Roger Cannon Contestants entered in the local Miss America Scholarship Pageant, their mothers, their sponsor's wives, and members of the Civic and Home Couple Plan LDS July Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bronson of Plymouth announce the marriage of their daughter Jean to Roger Cannon son of Mr. and Mrs. Cannon of Sheldon Tre-mont- on . Arts Club are in- -' vited to attend a workshop and tea, Saturday July 12 at 2 p.m., at the Garland Community Center. Miss Cami Coombs the reigning Miss Wheat and Beet Days Queen will be on hand to discuss with the girls her experiences at the Rites Miss Utah Pageant. LaVerd Canfield, cosmetic specialist of Tremonton will personally help each girl with her make-u- p for the pageant. Terry Holmgren, hair stylist will be there also to assist the girls in hair styling. Contestants will also receive pertinent information concerning the pageant at the workshop. Logan LDS Temple. That evening a reception will be held from at the Belmont Ward Cultural Hall in West Fielding, Utah. During the reception there will be a dance, held from for those attending to enjoy. He will be named Jared John and was welcomed home by two sisters and a broth- er. Relatives and friends are invited to attend an open house honoring Mrs. Yates Barker and commemher 80th birthorating day Saturday July 12 at 2p.m. The open house will be held at the home of her son Glen Yates, 652 North 3rd West Brigham City. Mrs, Barker was born Jub i I. 1895 at Park Valley, Itah a daughter of Abraham and Alice Carter Rose. She was married to James Yates on September 3, 1918. They lived in Park Valley, Ogden, Helton and Corrine. -6 and 2 sisters and 1 foster child. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Carr of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Chan Cornwall of Alono Barker. His early life was spent helping run a large farm in Thatcher. Horses and cattle have always been his interests along with farming and improving his surroundings. As the gas and steam engines came along he became interested in what He used made them tick. engines and a threshing machine to do custom threshing for farmers throughout western Box Elder County. Mr. Roche did all his own repairs on his machinery. He and his father built some of the first roads in eastern Box Elder county. In March 1928, he went to work as a traveling mechanic for Landes Tractor Co. repairing Caterpillar tractors in Utah and southern e En rTV done. the early years of her marriage, she helped take care of her husband's brothers. She also had Primary and Sunday school classes out of her own home. Even though the Roche family home was small, there always seemed to be room for one more. Mrs. Roche could always find a place for her little ones so Phyllis', Juanita's or Blanche's friends could have a bed to sleep in for the weekend. Sometimes the Roche household was a restrurantand a motel, but each of the children had a job to do and the friends pitched in to help get things done. Mrs. Roche's homemade bread, fried chicken and beef steaks were the talk of all her company. She enjoys her family and In . her husband. All 15 of the children were present to help the Roches enjoy their 60th anniversary. Due to illness, it has been necessary for them to sell these places and stay close to their family. Mr. Roche's health keeps him from enjoying hun--tiand fishing with his w sons and as he used to. Mrs. Roche, the former Alice Anderson, was born November 18, 1895, at Bear River City. She spent her childhood in Bothwell. As the third oldest of 3 9 the anniversary. The 15 children are Mrs. Don H.
