The pageant is divided into six historical segments. CALIFORNIA COLD RUSH: The early mining days of America's most populous state is depicted in one of the Pageant's scenes. The miners sing the popular mining folk song. When I Went Off To Prospect. ,.XV 4 V t x , v., THE AMERICANA DANCE THEATRE, the naeeant's featured great technical power which gives them the ability to convey the individualistic, strong-willeunpolished, unfenced pioneer. The Company exudes the restlessness which sent Americans west and the masculine force of the frontier. SPANIARDS: The pageant carries the audience from the early days of Coronado to the period covering the construction of the transcontinental railroad. EARLY TRANSPORTATION: Oxen and reproductions of early pioneer wagons aid in the authenticity of the journey West by settlers. This is made possible in the pageant through the use of a wood covering on the Spectrum floor. |
