Show THE Good Cook's Corner O o L I JC. I i3 Our featured home maker this week is Mrs. Jim Farley of Tremonton. Bev is a petite little red head, mother of four, is crazy about her husband, and seems to have infinite patience with tier children. Besides all that she's fun to be with, and, as usual, the interview and picture taking session took twice as long as it should have ! Rev was born in Anchorage, Alaska, where her father was employed by our Government. However, when World War 0 started, all the people were forced to evacuate and her family moved to Boise, Idaho for a year and then on to Ogden for their permanent home. Her mother, Mrs. Vivian Rayney. and Jim's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Farley, still live there. She was the oldest child and developed her maternal instincts very early in life as she helfied her Mom with the rearing of the younger children in the family. Jim and Bev met on a blind date set She says that she up by his cousin. didn't feel that she had made much of an impression on Jim and was very surprised wh n he called for another date! They dated sporadically during the summer but didn't become serious about one another for several months. They have been married for eighteen years and have three daughters and one son. They are: Rae Lynn, 17. Debbie. 1", Jimmy, 11 and Kellie 2. Husband. Jim. is a maintenance mechanic at Hill Field and also does automobile repair work in his spare time. The Farleys have an eighteen foot trailer and they all go camping and fishing at every opportunity. Rae Lynn is saving her money from her sum.ner job so she can go on Debbie the Choir tour next summer. worked in the beet fields for several weeks and just bought a new ten speed bike with her earnings. Jimmy is all excited with his Little League games ed LEADER-TH- E TOWN TALK and lives and breathes basebalL Little Kellie's favorite pasttime is smearing her big sisters lipsticks on the walls and on herself and giving everybody lots of hugs and kisses to make up for her dastardly deeds! Bev has many interests but especially loves bowling and is the new president of a ladies morning bowling league tor the coming year. She especially loves bowling with Jim but says she has to browbeat him unmercifully to get him to the lanes. She really enjoys sewing and is working on a patchwork quilt at the present time. She also sketches a lot and she does quite a bit of Tri-Ke- m painting. She mixes her own colors of paints though, so, her pictures truly are original. Bev has quite a green thumb and has lots of pretty house plants in her home too. She even made a very pretty abstract picture for her living room on a big corkboard with pins and brightly colored threads. She spends a great deal of time canning and freezing quite a variety of foods for her family's needs each summer and fall. I know all you garden tenders out there will especially appreciate Bev's Zucchini relish recipe. I've never known a Zucchini grower who wasn't reduced to accosting strangers on the street with ith squash and their arms loaded begging them to please take them home! cont. from page two Alice Nelson dropped by for a minute on Monday morning.
