REED GILES at Inlermounialn Firatrs Anocialino IF YOU GOT The families of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oyler Sr. surprised them with a 45th wedding anniversary dinner party Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Shaffer. Joining the immediate family were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Forsberg, Garland and Mrs. Dora Shaffer. They presented the honored guests a lovely gift Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Shaffer accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Pierson to Logan Sunday afternoon where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Lyn Larson. Visits Friends Mrs. Eph Peterson accompanied her husband ; when he went to work at Hill Field Sunday and spent the day visiting Mrs. Wayne Fielding and Dorothy at Clearfield and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Cole at Sunset. Mrs. Frank Elmer accompanied Mrs. Lee Hansen to Bountiful where she visited her daughter's family. Mrs. Hansen went on to Magna and visited her daughter and family Mrs. Lucile Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Lorus King and their family were in Logan for a family dinner honoring Mr. and Mrs. Russell Church at their home before moving to Freeport, 111., where he has accepted a new position. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Rhodes attended the Volley Ball Tournament at Brigham City Wednesday evening in which the East Garland Sr. and Jr. teams both came out second place. While there they also visited Mr. and Mrs. Brent Jeppsen. The Rhodes family celebrated the birthdays of Michael and Rocky with an evening of bowling. SUGAR BEETS CORN Sunday Dinner Guest Miss Reta Hietzman of Jerome, Ida., attending school at Weber College was Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Oyler. Dick Oyler was home frm Weber State for the weekend. Dick has been accepted as a dental student at Western Reserve Dental University at Cleveland, Ohio, where he will enroll in the fall. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Fryer and children of Salt Lake City were at the Henry Sorensen home Sunday. Mrs. Jean Ricks of Benson Ward and Afton Ravsten of Clarkston visited Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Sorensen Sunday. Mrs. Dorris Peterson spent the weekend in Ogden with the L. Francis Peterson children while their parents were away with their bowling league. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hansen was in the hospital last week suffering with pneumonia. D.U.P. Meets Daughters of Utah Pioneers camp meeting was held at the home of Elvira Christensen. Serretta Johnsen assisted with the refreshments. Besides the regular lesson and business of the camp Mrs. Lois Christensen entertained with slides and pictures and also mementos of Iceland. These pictures were very educational as well as entertaining. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Smith of Thatcher, Ida., surprised the Alvin Anderson family last. Sunday by calling on them. The Andersons were already gathered to celebrate Alvin's birthday and the extra guests were most welcome. Irving and Carrie CRristensen visited in Logan Sunday afternoon with Clifford and Thelma Jensen. Vernell Morrison of Tremon-to- n visited Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Alice Peterson and other relatives. Raffie and Etta Christensen were in Salt Lake City on business Thursday. In 1962 after living in Utah eight years, he was one of 18 designers selected from 2500 in national competition to receive an award of outstanding merit for the best design of a modern executive office. His design won 10th place in the competition. He has also directed the design and furnishings of several new business places and homes in Tremonton and Brigham City. t air Thomas J. Dunsford, merited nationally as one of the leading authorities in design and color will be the guest speaker at the Relief Society Golden Keys Fair Saturday afternoon. He will give practical and helpful suggestions on improving home decor and arrangements in keeping with the theme of the Fair, The Magic Art of Homemak-ing- ". The Fair is for all women in the valley. It is free of charge and offers demonstrations of phases of homemaking and a brief program to carry out the ideas. The family celebrated by having supper at the Golden Spike Cafe in Corinne and then visiting at the Whitaker home. Last Wednesday evening the Whitaker assembled family again because Mrs. Lynn Whitaker and son, Roger, of Moses Lake, Wash., were visiting them. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gallegos of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Whitaker and their families. Nish, Chairman, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee, announced today. Interested growers are urged to file their applications as soon as possible, since the signup will extend only through May 15. While wheat growers may take part in the program or not, just as they choose, only those wheat producers who sign up and participate in the program will be eligible for diversion payments, marketing certificates on most of their wheat production, and p loans on all their wheat, the Chairman declared. The diversion payments under the voluntary wheat program will be made for planting within the acreage allotment and put-in- g to conserving use an acre price-suppo- 1964-cro- rt per bushel higher than the loan rate would have been without the new program. In addition, marketing certificates, with a cash value of 70 cents per bushel for domestic and 25 cents for export, will in general be available for 90 percent of the normal production of the but not more farm allotment than the normal production of the allotment-acre- s actually planted for harvest Mr. Nish reminded wheat growers that the farm wheat allotment and farm normal yield to be used under the 1964 voluntary wheat program are those issued prior to the marketing quota referendum held in May of last year. The Chairman suggested that wheat growers who have questions about the voluntary new wheat program get in touch with the ASCS County Office so that they may complete their production plans well in advance of the May 15 deadline for the program signup.
