She is 18, a senior at Bear River High school. Her favorite dish using milk and cream is fruit salad. Kathy plans to attend Utah State University next year. Kathy is president of the Hi-- V ! This was a meeting with all club, presidents and Hammond, Logan, KIDMAN Stake Officers Honor Retiring Council Members A party honoring the South Bear River Stake Presidency and the retiring High Council members was held Wednesday evening, April 22, at Graycliffs in Ogden. Those retiring officers who were honored were Dr. D. B. Green, LaRain Marble, Will-laRoberts, Verl Waldron and Harry Canfield. Entertainment of the evening was furnished by Douglas Christoffer and Richard Wood, folk singers. David Calderwood Claims Judith de Mello for His Bride A wedding of interest to the people of the valley is that of Miss Judith de Mello and David was perCalderwood, which formed March 28 in Panama by Ronald Hales, District President of the Panama district of the Central American Mission and close friends of the bridegroom. Attending were church and military friends of the couple. The new Mrs. Calderwood is a daughter of Carlos de Mello, former governor of the department of Rivera, Uruguay, and Hortensia Dutilh of Montevideo, Uruguay. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Calderwood of Tremonton. The ceremony was spoken in Spanish with Ann Barr, . the wife of a military friend as the bride's attendant and Lt Tom Bates of Montana as best man for the groom. The course was too wet to play golf, but the members enjoyed a delicious brunch. Colorful plastic golf balls and tees were used as favors and decorated the tables. President Blondie Fridal presided and welcomed the new members and outlined the activities of the season. Yolanda Allen explained the Northern Division requirements and encouraged members to Join. Games were played and a social enjoyed. The Literary Guild met at the home of Mrs. Grant Thompson Thursday evening. Mrs. Earl Stohl gave several Science Fiction stories. Refreshments were served to fourteen members. Mrs. Ford Jcppsen was a special guests. , They are at present making their home in an apartment at the rear of the Latter-da- y Saint chapel on the , Atlantic side of Panama City, and feel very fortunate in this privilege, because of the strict regulations against living in Panama proper at this time. The young couple met a few months before David was released from his missionary work while be was serving as district president of the Northern District in Rivera. They have continued their correspondence for four years. After Lt Calderwood was sent to Panama with the 8th Special Forces Group, they got together again and set their wedding date. The bride and her mother and sisters have been members of the L.D.S. Church since the early days of the church in Uruguay. They had wanted very much to be married in one of the Church temples, but the current political" situation in Panama made it impossible for the groom to obtain leave from his military unit The bride was employed in Montevideo at the National Bank of Uruguay and IBM. She holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the College of Rivera The young couple are planing a visit to the valley next year when David's tour of duty with the army is finished. Family Honors Roy C. Andersen A special dinner party was held at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Young in Willard to honor Roy C. Anderson's 70th birthday on April 17. Those helping Mn Anderson celebrate his birthday were his wife, and Dr. and Mrs. Alma D. Anderson of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth A. Anderson of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Anderson of Thatcher, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson of Tremonton, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Marsh of Ogden. A delicious dinner was enjoyed by all present and gifts were presented to Mr. Anderson. Bothwell Group Holds Picnic HESS of Happy over the arrival their new daughter born April 25th are Cleon and Anna Lee Hill Hess of Tremonton. The Hess's have one son and three other daughters. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Hess of Plymouth and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hill of Tremonton. With Changes Ward Young rieds had to cancel their weiner roast due to bad weather Sat' urday, but they didn't let something like the weather stop them from having a good time. Twenty eight young marrieds enjoyed an indoor picnic. Boyd Marble told stories of how the pioneers and early settlers in Box Elder County started settlements and the. group enjoyed a community sing with a few mystery tunes thrown in to make the evening lots of fun. Class will be held on the first Wednesday evening in May at the Boyd Marble home. Mr. and Mrs. LaDell Harris were in Salt Lake City during the week on business. Harvey Howell Airman Home On Leave , The John Payne family were very happy to welcome their son Airman 3rd Class Val Gene Payne. After a two week leave he will return to the Langlcy Air Force Base in Virginia. Surprise Party Held Seventeen college students and friends of Blair Summers met at his home Saturday evening. The group surprised him on his birthday with a party.
