Boyd's shot claims the stripes and plays well on the table. Dave shows to be as equally good but with nice cuts from Boyd he pulls a lead. With fight Dave comes out to win 1st game. 2nd game-Boy- d breaks taking solids with Dave on the stripes. Dave gets the lead giving Boyd a tough time against him. Staying with the lead the 1st set and a second win goes to Dave Tyler. 2nd set-lgame. Mike Nowers vs Mick Lindsay. Into the game, both excellent shooters, Mike gets a slight lead just to have Mick slowly overtake him. Mike tries to keep up but Mike wins 1st game. 2nd game-Mik- e breaks but it's Mick who gets the pick of stripes. Game is even until Mick eventually gets the lead. Mike playing it cool comes up to take the 2nd game. 3rd game-AftMick breaks and Mike gets a shot, the table is still open. With a few tries Mick gets the solids and ahead of Mike. With tough shots on his side Mike fights against his opponent. The winner gets the lead giving Boyd a tough time against him. Staying with the lead the 1st set and a second win goes to Dave Tyler. 2nd set-lgame. Mike Nowers vs Mick Lindsay. Dean goes for the stripes and pulls a good lead. Tony then does well at trying to catch up however Dean wins first game. 2nd game-Ton- y again breaks with nothing but after a minute takes the lead. Through the weeks of the tournament as well as this game Dean has showed some excellent banking, making his shots. With a scratch on the 8 from Tony, a second win in the 3rd set the game is Dean Bowdens'. 4th set-lgame. Dean Bowden vs. Mick Lindsay. Dean breaks taking down one of each, his pick is stripes. Mick with the solids does well against Dean. Eventually Dean comes out with the lead but his opponent catches up and soon both are on the 8. After a couple tries from both players the 8 goes down and a first win, against Dean, goes to Mick. 2nd game-Dea- n on the stripes, Mick solids, shot for shot are being made keeping the game even. Mick on the 8 tries to cut it in only to have it double kiss forcing it down an uncalled pocket giving the win to Dean. 3rd game-Mic- k breaks letting Dean pick the stripes. A close game each opponent carefully their next shot, contemplates making them as they play the game out. On the 8, careful aim for a good shot and another win in the 4th set is Dean Bowdens'. 5th set-lgame. Dave Tyler vs Ron Aylsworth. Ron breaks taking solids, shooting excellent to get a good lead. Dave is precise in catching up, bringing both players on the 8. The first win goes to Dave. 2nd game. Ron breaks putting down three and choosing solids. Dave up to the table does well putting down stripes one after another taking a lead. Ron not to be outdone passes Dave to win 2nd game. 3rd game-Dav- e breaks - leaving table open. Ron's turn claims the solids putting himself eventually ahead. Dave with mostly hard shots tries to fight back however another win in the 5th set is Ron Aylsworths. 6th set-lgame. Jack Erwig vs Boyd Yardley. Jack breaks with stripes and starts out well. Boyd, fighting, stays up with Jack making sharp shots. With both taking slight leads over his opponent, the winner of the first game comes out to be breaks taking Boyd. 2nd game-Jac- k in stripes looking good. Boyd tries to catch up but only has hard shots to choose from. With strength and luck on his side Jack is winner of breaks 2nd game. 3rd game-Boy- d with solids, leaving Jack's turn with some good shots to choose from and takes the lead over Boyd. Boyd having time to catch up does well on some slick shots. Both getting to the 8 a tough shot is made giving the 6th set to Jack Erwig. 7th set-lgame. Dave Tyler vs Dean Bowden. Dave breaks with solids going down. A good match, the game stays even. Dean with shots that have to be cut or banked does excellent against his opponent. Dave in turn slowly catches up with nice cuts but not before Dean wins the game 1st game. 2nd game-Int- o after Dave breaks, Dave is slightly ahead. Dean with careful thought makes some nice long green shots bringing game to an even match. The game then stays even until a tight cut on the 8 is made bringing another win and the 7th set to Dean Bowden. NX J o 1 A 8th game. Dean Bowden vs set-l- st Jack Erwig. Jack, in turn, makes a couple nice bank shots getting a touch lead. back Dean carefully Fighting places the solids down to take over the lead. Because of a scratch on the 8 the winner again in the 8th set belongs to Jack Erwig. 9th set-lgame-Jac- k Erwig vs Ron Aylsworth. Ron wins break for the solids. Both players do well, against the other throughout the game. Eventually a lead is taken by Ron. Jack fights to catch up making sharp cuts however the winner comes out to be Ron. 2nd Jack on the solids, Ron game-Wit- h with stripes, both do well, making shot for shot. Game is even for a short time. Soon Jack slowly takes the lead. Not losing a set throughout start of tournament Ron is tough and pulls up to Jack. Jack on the 8 slips to scratch giving the 9th set and championship to Ron Aylswu'-th- . Ron, super Congratulations playing.
