Johnson, retiring secretary of the Garland Relief Society, was held following the regular program Tuesday afternoon. Tributes were paid to Mrs. Johnson by Mrs. J. W. Garrett and Mrs. Harold Castleton who mentioned as special characteristics, her efficiency and dependability in her many years of service. Mrs. Johnson was presented with a beautiful gift and delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. Verna Hansen of Los Angeles is a guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Capener, this week Mrs. Rebecca Hughes of Menden, mother of Mrs. George B. Hughes and Mrs. Margaret Jensen, and Mrs. Howard Call of Brigham City, and Claude Jensen of Salt Lake City were guests at the Hughes home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Edell, of Malad, were guests on Saturday night at the George B. Hughes home. Mrs. E. J. Holmgren accompanied her sons, Douglas and J., to Logan Sunday where she visited with her folks for awhile. Arthur Welling attended a regional convention of Seminary teachers at Logan Saturday. Mrs. Arthur Welling spent Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake City with her niece, Miss Margaret Tanner, who is a patient in the Holy Cross Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hansen and daughter, Lois, went to Honeyville on Sunday to visit their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Hunsaker and children. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hunsaker of Logan, spent the weekend home. Miss Eva Adams and Mr. Holmes of the M. I. A. stake board, visited here Tuesday for the closing program and dance. This concludes the M. I. A. work for this season.
