Diann McCoy, representing the Defense Information Systems Agency, talked about the amazing technology that is putting software into smart grenades and how "software is getting hard and hardware is getting soft." Referring to the perils of software that isn't easily upgraded and hardware that's continually changing, McCoy charged the software designers to build into the software "agility" and consider who is using the product so the software will have "operational considerations built in."
