Show Hilltop Times Thursday, May 8, 1997 NEWS BRIEFS Russians visit Hill Aerospace Museum Bell dedication at museum A bell honoring those killed in combat or wounded in World War II, will be dedicated Friday, 10:30 a.m., at the Hill Aerospace Museum's Heritage Chapel. Eighty members of the 8th Air Force's 384th Bomb Group will be at the dedication ceremony. The public is invited to attend. For more information call Capt Angela Nichols, On-Sit- a I by Sue Berk In what was one of his last chances to represent Hill AFB, CMSgt John Brewer, Ogden Air Logistics Center senior enlisted advisor, 20-ye- recently spent two weeks at AFB, Ohio. Brewer attended the Air Force Materiel Command care, n commander, and Col. Carl Critchlow, 75th Air Base Wing commander, as well as AFMC's senior staff, commanders and senior enlisted advisors. He also participated in the Air Force Materiel Command Outstanding Airmen of the Year and First Sergeant of the Year selection process. This was his last TOY to n AFB Brewer is retiring May 30 after serving more than 28 years in the Air Force. "The 3 12 day seminar helps our staff sergeants with more than 10 years of service," Brewer said. "AFMC asked each center to develop the course, so it's not standardized which I like. This allows us to cover issues that are important to the people here at the center. Hill's course covers core values, discienlisted pline, progress reports and a myriad of 're-blu- e' TRI-CAR- other subjects that are important to middle-tie- r NCOs who are the heart See Benefits, page 5 nhancement IP Five more Ogden repair shops implement Depot Repair Enhancement Program (DREP) The Depot Repair Enhancement Program (DREP) was implemented in the ICBM Group Electrical and Aircraft WheelsBrakes (LMSTF) (LIOPWJLIOPWW) Carbon Brakes (LIOPWB) and Welding (LIOPSM) shops May 1. This gives us a total of seven shops currently operating under the DREP concept. By December 1997. Ogden ALC will have a total of 35 repair shops. 18 materiel manager shops, and seven shop service centers (SSC) operating under the DREP concept. The first two PACER LEAN test projects shops to initially test DREP began operation in July - August 1996. Commercial pagers serviced from existing contracts with AT&T, and West Link will have coverage through midnight May 31, to allow for a transition period to swap old pagers for new pagers. Walk-i-n service for swap outs is Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m.4 p.m. each day, in Bldg. 800, Bay 7A (east end). Individuals from the 75th Communications Squadron and Pagenet will be available to provide training on the new pagers and hand out instruction booklets and coverage maps. After May 14, swap outs will be done by Base pagers appointment only in Bldg. 891, Ext don't have to be swapped out Even though many pagers were purchased and belong to the using organizations, if a pager billing is processed through the 75th CS, it's still necessary to register next week to ensure billing coverage and associated funding requirements are addressed.
